As many people may be still plowing through their new year’s resolutions, I think it’s important to stop and be exactly where you are meant to be.
Although we may not like where we are currently are or even understand why we may find ourselves in places we don’t want to be, whether that be employment or unemployment, lack of money, or generally not happy with our life. You can still start to turn things around by being exactly where you need to be right now and let the next pages of your life read on.
Long before the internet and therefore e-mail, we had good old-fashioned pen and paper. I remember my teenage years I’d spend time searching for really nice sometimes even scented stationery so I could write to my friends.
Of course, these friends all lived in the same country as me, so there was really no need to buy international postage stamps and envelopes. But I do remember being so excited about opening up my letterbox and seeing letters from friends and sitting down to read their letters.
It’s been one of those weeks for me, which unfortunately has put me way behind in my quest to give free shout-outs to fellow medium writers. I applied for a job recently, and last week to my total amazement I found out I was shortlisted!
I’d gotten so used to the template response of “thank you for your application blah blah blah speel only to be denied any further progression. But I wasn’t raised a quitter.
I wish I could just quit but that’s just not in my DNA. So yes I was shortlisted recently for the job I applied…
It’s Saturday, June 5th, 2021. Usually, the weekend is for relaxing but this weekend I find myself catching up. As of June 1st, I made the commitment to write here on Medium and randomly choosing 3 articles and writers to give a shout-out to.
But this week has been unusually busy and so yesterday I hit a wall, don’t worry, I don’t mean physically, I mean emotionally and mentally. I barely had enough time to scratch myself let alone manage the time to write. …
It’s a cold rainy Thursday in Sydney, Australia today as we’re on our third day of winter. So I’m sitting here all rugged up with my beanie and scarf on. Even though it doesn't snow in Sydney, it still gets very cold, and it’s going to get even colder when winter peaks around mid-July
But it’s also day 3 of paying it forward with writing. In case you’ve just come across this, this will bring you up to date as to what it’s all about.
Every day this month for 30 days, I’m going to randomly choose 3 lucky fellow…
Well, I’m so touched by the responses of yesterday’s first day of paying it forward with writing. In case you missed yesterday’s one here it is again
And for those of you who have just come across this, this is how it began.
So it’s day 2, June 2nd, and I’m going to choose another 3 writers today to give a shout out to this month for 30 days, which works out to be a whopping 90 lucky medium writers in total to get a free shout out to this month and a chance to showcase their work.
Well, here we are, June 1st. As I first launched this idea a few weeks ago and announcing I’d be starting this today June 1st, 2021 for the 30 days of June. In case you missed it, here is that story.
For 30 days I’m going to choose 3 stories from 3 fellow medium writers and give them a shout-out. So let's get started.
I know I’ve been quiet for a few weeks here on Medium, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working. …
It’s always a blessing when you receive a notification to say that a fellow writer has mentioned you and provided their work for more people to read. This has happened to me today, so thank you The Secret Aspirant.
There’s a movie called Pay it forward. It is set in Las Vegas, and it chronicles 11-year-old Trevor McKinney’s launch of a goodwill movement known as “pay it forward" where each person steps up to the challenge to pay it forward and does three random acts of kindness each day for 30 days each random act goes to a different person.
I’ve always considered myself resilient, and I guess I have the fact I was raised by a navy man to thank for that. I’ve never been one to quit. Yes, I might fall down, but I’ll always get back up.
I’m up to day 4 of my return to writing. I started this year determined that I would write one article per day every day this year. January, February, and March were a success and my earnings showed persistence was paying off.
Not a huge amount but a nice little side income I added to my already savings to my…
It’s May 3rd, 2021 now in Sydney Australia and well, I’m another year older I am today. My birthday last year I spent in isolation as Australia was in lockdown and so for the first time ever I couldn’t even be with family or friends unless it was through my computer screen using zoom.
Last year was pretty rough for everyone, so I’m grateful that at least this year I was able to meet up with family in person for lunch. …
