Day 5 of my NaNoWriMo 30-Day Challenge: Do you tell others your goals and dreams?

Well, it’s been one of those days for me, I made the mistake of telling a “so-called friend of mine today about my challenge I’ve set myself and she laughed and asked me why.

I then told her it’s something I enjoy, I then told her how the partner program works.

I guess I should have known better than to tell her as it’s not the first time she has shot me down in response to anything she can’t control me with. Our friendship has been hanging by a thread for a while now and I have gone through stages of cutting her off but she always finds a way to engage in contact with me.

I didn’t talk to her for a few months actually due to her need to put me down to make herself feel better. But when I try and point that out to her she gets all defensive about it.

So I regret telling her what I’m doing this month by blogging every day. It’s a challenge I’ve set myself and I’m proud of it.

It gets so exhausting with her constant need to control me, and while I do still talk to her, I admit the friendship isn’t the same as it used to be. Years ago she ended up dating a real narcissistic man who unfortunately wouldn’t see what he was doing in the way he was treating her.
