Day 6 of my 30 day NaNoWriMo Challenge: Catching up
If I’m being honest with myself, I’m actually on day eight now but I’ve been delayed due to renovation repairs happening in my apartment the past two days.
I set myself this thirty-day challenge on November 1st to blog every day for thirty days and I was excited I was on track and motivated up until Friday when my apartment was literally full of contactors repairing damage to my bedroom ceiling.
What started out as a small stain I had noticed on my ceiling a few months ago had grown to about the size of a dinner plate. I thought it was just a simple paint over it job but when I reported it to my landlord it was inspected and I was told my ceiling would need replacing.
Ha, just goes to show how much I know about building, doesn’t it?
I was shocked and more surprised if anything as I didn’t realize it was as serious as it was. Then it was explained to me that it’s water damage from upstairs apartments that have started to come through the ceiling into my apartment and eventually the ceiling would have caved in and potentially on top of me.
So okay at least I wouldn’t need to pay for the repairs which was a plus as it wasn’t my fault. Then it was a case of a work order being submitted and then workers coming out.
