Well, I’ve made it to the first week of my NaNoWriMo challenge I’ve set myself, it feels great to have a goal and be sticking to it.

I’ve learned a few lessons on the way though of telling the right people about goals and dreams, you can read about what happened to the journey when I made the mistake of telling a so-called friend what I was setting out to achieve this month, well lesson learned there was for me to be very selective as to what I tell her.

Yes, we’ve all been there, when we’ve been so excited that we’re doing something with our lives we are just bursting to tell someone of our goals only to discover they feel the need to shoot us down ultimately to make themselves feel better about themselves.

I was determined for that not to stop me though, in fact, if anything it’s just pushed me harder onto my journey and my path because at the end of the day it’s my life.

So I felt the small accomplishment of getting to the first week and three more weeks to go. I decided to be happy for me and that was okay, it felt great actually.

I think it’s important to celebrate even small accomplishments, rather than aim for the grand finale why not celebrate at the end of each blog entry or making it to the first week if you decide to.
