Day 8 of my NaNoWriMo Challenge: Back on Track
November 8th, 2020. What a big day it is. I’m not into politics but I’m thrilled Joe Biden has won the 2020 presidential election.
Even though I live in Australia the president of the united states of America affects the whole world in some way.
Especially this year in regards to covid and also the economy.
I’m sure many of us, well I know I was looking forward to 2020 last year with it being a new year and new decade. It’s a chance to start fresh but unfortunately this time last year how could we have known what this year was going to be like.
Between job losses and loss of lives and businesses, it’s still hard to fathom how an invisible illness has struck all of us around the world in one way or another.
I do like the idea of a new president and a potentially fresh start. I have many American friends on FaceBook who I feel very close to and am hoping their lives will change for the better, I hope all of our lives can change for the better.
But I think today with the election win was a big deal and congratulations to all because it’s a victory to everyone.
I admit as I said, I don’t follow politics and in Australia voting is mandatory. I’ve actually been fined in the past for apparently not voting even though I have but according to the electoral roll, I hadn’t which is most frustrating.
So as we’re now heading to the end of 2020 and I don’t think I’m the only one that will say thank god for that, at least we know president Biden will be officially taking over in January 2021.
I’ve heard it’s said hindsight is 20/20, so maybe it’s a chance to look back on this year and turn it all around.
