Day 9 of my 30-day NaNoWriMo Challenge: 1st day of the week

It’s Monday in Sydney Australia. I always love the start of a new week almost as much as I love the start of a new month and new year.

It’s a chance to start fresh and face our goals for the week. Whether that be something as small as doing the laundry and putting it away at the end of the day nice and fresh.

As someone who has lived with depression for many years, I’m the first to admit I’ve had my struggles. In-fact earlier this year I was facing eviction due to the clutter in my apartment, basically, I had gone through a tough time and care factor zero that it all just accumulated.

I had to admit there was a problem to allow help in and now I’m happy to say my home is a home again and not just a roof over my head. Routine is everything to me now. Now that I’m happy with my home again I’m determined not to allow it to get that way again.

It’s funny how little things become bigger things if ignored. Now I put my clean laundry away each time I do a load of laundry. I do the dishes after each meal I throw out anything that needs to be thrown out.

I look at the start of each week now with a to-do list in mind. It gives me that daily task to keep on top of things now and I do actually feel a lot better off because of it.

Now I can go to bed each night knowing I’ve done what I’ve set out to do for the day rather than put it off.
