I got my flu shot last week, now sick and hoping it’s not COVID-19

Normally I wouldn’t worry when getting sick after the annual flu shot. Though I got my first one ever last year after my doctor suggested I do because I travel on public transport a lot.

So I did and felt armed against the usual flu. But then got sick and because I was trying to work as well I ended up with a chest infection needing two weeks of antibiotics.

I swore I would never get it again.

But then came the deadly virus COVID-19 this year taking lives and jobs with it. So my doctor suggested to me I get the flu shot again to protect myself so I don’t end up with both the usual flu on top of covid-19

I reluctantly agreed and rolled up my sleeve for another sharp sting in the arm. In the back of my mind, I knew I at least didn’t want to end up with both.

Two days later I started to feel unwell but thought it was just because I hadn’t been out anywhere except for the allowed essentials of food and medical appointments,

The next day I couldn’t stop sneezing and had chills.
