Preparing Fields For Rain
A few years ago, a friend of mine gave me a DVD boxset of Christian movies for Christmas.
In it were five Christian movies written and directed and also starred in by the Kendrick brothers Alex and Stephen Kendrick.
Their church is based in Atlanta Georgia USA
I had heard of these movies but had never seen them before.
I’d like to start with one of the movies today to write about. It’s called Facing The Giants.
It’s about a high school football coach who has lost his way in life. He has been with the school for six years, but as a coach, he has just settled for average seasons of wins. And for years, and looking back for too many years I settled for average as well with voluntary work and settling for working for free because it was easier to do that then be faced with job rejections.
He and his wife are also trying to have a baby too but after years of trying it seems not possible.
They both accept their fate and struggle to move forward with their lives.
But it isn’t until the football coach is in his office working late at night to avoid going home when he’s paid a visit by a man.
