As the weather is warming up in Australia and the sun is out more, I feel compelled to get myself into a routine of writing every day. Since I started blogging here on Medium in January this year, I’ve made a little bit over what my monthly membership costs each month. Even though I didn’t write anything during July and August because I felt I had nothing to write about.

It’s hard when the days seem to be the same each day and I didn’t want to write about covid-19 because I wanted to use writing to escape that for as long as I could.

But now we’re in spring in Australia and while a lot is still being done online and through either social media or zoom, or skype, at least we can make little changes each day.

Recently I bought some incense sticks, I wanted something different to use in my apartment and it’s actually made me feel a little better. It calms me so I can write and not vent out frustration and anxiety.

So I’m up to day five of spring and I’ve been writing each day, maybe not much but still something. I get up, I make my coffee, I light one of my incense sticks, and I log on to Medium.

Of course, as I’m making my coffee and waiting for the kettle to boil my mind is trying to decide what to write about. Then I decided it can be anything.

So today I’ve got my incense stick burning away and as I watch the scented smoke rise I imagine that clearing any negative vibes and thoughts away. it’s so relaxing just watching it slowly dissolve.

So that’s my sweet smell of writing.
